During the carneval season are held hundred's of fancy-dress balls and classical gala balls. The Climax of the open air activities is on February 11, February 12 + February 13 (Faschings-Sunday, -Monday and -Tuesday), where the central sqare Marienplatz is turned into a huge party zone with music, fancy dress and dancing. One of the highlights is the dance of the market women at the Viktualienmarkt on Shrove Tuesday February 13.
